01. Who is responsible.

BoltInvoice is published by Steve Oyugi. For personal information we receive through support or operate through this website, Steve Oyugi is the responsible controller where data-protection law applies. Contact info@majirani.com with privacy questions or requests.

This policy covers the BoltInvoice app and boltinvoice.app. If you enter other people’s information into your workspace, you are responsible for your own use of that information and for meeting any applicable business-record or data-protection obligations.

02. Records on your device.

The app stores the information you enter in its local workspace, including business details, customer names and contact/billing details, saved products or services, quotes, invoices, credit notes, payment/refund history, notes and original PDF documents.

The app does not send your workspace to the publisher. It has no mandatory account, publisher-operated app backend, advertising, tracking, analytics SDK or automatic CloudKit sync. We cannot access, recover or delete records that exist only on your device.

The app accesses its own files and files you select using system pickers. It uses file metadata to manage local files and check selected backup sizes, not to track you. Your device’s security, operating-system settings and backups also affect the protection of local data.

03. Exports, sharing & recovery.

You decide when to save, share or print a PDF, export a backup, restore a workspace or select an external storage provider. Those actions make files available to the destination or recipient you choose. Their handling of copies is governed by their own policies.

Portable .simpleinvoice backups contain business, customer and financial records, saved items and original PDFs. These exported backups are unencrypted. Store them privately and protect access. The app does not automatically remove exported files, email attachments, printed documents or recipients’ copies when you delete a local record.

Startup recovery preserves unreadable stores and may retain failed recovery stores so that existing data is not silently overwritten. These preserved files can contain personal or business information and are separate from deletion of the current workspace. Contact support before removing them if you need help.

04. When you contact support.

If you email info@majirani.com, we receive your email address, message, normal email delivery information and any attachments you choose to include. We may also receive the app/device details and reproduction steps you provide.

We use this information to respond, diagnose problems, manage the support conversation and protect against misuse. Please redact screenshots and use fictional records wherever possible. Do not send customer data or a complete backup unless we have first agreed that it is necessary.

Support email is handled using Zoho Mail, which processes messages for email delivery and storage. Read Zoho’s privacy policy for its own practices. We do not use support emails for advertising or sell your support information.

We retain resolved support conversations for up to 12 months after resolution, then delete or anonymise them. An ongoing issue, security investigation, legal obligation or establishment/defence of a legal claim may require longer retention of relevant information. We keep only what is needed for that purpose. Provider backups may retain deleted information for their applicable backup cycle.

Where applicable, handling an app-related support request is necessary to provide the requested service or perform our contract with you. General enquiries, troubleshooting and abuse prevention rely on our legitimate interests in responding and operating a reliable service. Applicable legal obligations may require certain processing.

05. This website & service providers.

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare delivers the pages and helps protect the site. Its infrastructure can process technical information about requests, including IP addresses, requested URLs, request times, browser/device headers and security or error information.

We use technical information available to us for website delivery, reliability, troubleshooting and security, based on our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the site. We retain logs we control only as needed for those purposes, including necessary incident follow-up. Cloudflare also processes and retains service and network information under its applicable terms and policies; we do not set every provider retention period.

These pages do not include analytics scripts, advertising, tracking pixels, embedded social-media tools, contact forms or non-essential cookies. Clicking the email link opens your email application; it does not send a message automatically. Cloudflare may process requests and use security-related technologies separately from the page code. Any provider features enabled for this site are also governed by their applicable terms and configuration.

Cloudflare and Zoho Mail process the information needed for their website/email services. These providers operate internationally; processing locations depend on their services and configurations and may be outside your country. Where a transfer is subject to data-protection restrictions, applicable provider terms and appropriate transfer safeguards are required. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your request. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy, including its information about end users of customer websites.

We may disclose relevant information when necessary to meet a legal obligation, respond to a lawful request or protect legal rights. We do not carry out automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects using support or website information.

06. Apple & system services.

Apple processes App Store purchases, downloads, TestFlight participation, operating-system backups and diagnostics under its own terms and settings. We do not receive your payment-card details from Apple.

If you submit beta feedback or enable diagnostic sharing, Apple may make crash reports, device/OS information, screenshots or feedback available to us. We use information made available to diagnose faults, improve reliability and respond to feedback, retaining only what is needed for those purposes. Feedback handled as a support conversation follows the support retention period above.

Files or backups you place in iCloud or another provider, and messages you send through another service, are handled by those services under their policies. The app’s offline design does not prevent the operating system or services you choose from making copies.

07. Retention & deletion.

Data & Privacy in the app provides temporary PDF cleanup and deletion of business records in the current workspace. Used invoice-series names are retained to prevent accidental number reuse. Normal workspace deletion does not delete preserved startup-recovery stores, exported backups, shared PDFs or operating-system copies.

Deletion is logical; it is not a promise of forensic erasure from storage or backups. Contact us to request deletion of support information we hold. For app records we cannot access, use the app controls and separately manage your exported files, recovery copies and device backups.

08. Your choices & rights.

Where applicable, you may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information we hold, restriction of processing, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Email info@majirani.com with the nature of your request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. These rights are subject to applicable law and do not give us access to records stored only on your device or by a separate service provider.

You may complain to your local data-protection authority. In Sweden, this is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

09. Changes & contact.

We will update this policy if features, service providers or data-handling practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate.
